"Rare Peace is a commentary on both the times we are living in and my personal life experience. These ten compositions were written across an entire decade of my life, and though I have changed tremendously throughout these years, an underlying theme has remained constant. Even since my young childhood I've felt imposed upon by a deep perception of the emotional auras of people around me. It's as if I can feel it physically, the pain and suffering humans go through; individually, collectively. When I discovered music as an outlet for personal expression, it felt like a pathway being revealed before me. It gave me a sense of purpose. It provided me a light with which to fill the darkness. There are songs here that aim to capture my secondhand understanding of deep, shared pain, and my frustration with our social tendencies that fuel it. But what I hope to emphasize far more is the connection, the joy, our prevailing on the smallest of scales; emotional bonds that lie silently present between any two souls on Earth. This unifying force, which is pervasive and essential in music, provides us with sanctuary and fills us with hope."
