Bass Trombonist Jennifer Wharton formed a jazz septet in 2017 featuring four trombones with rhythm section. Since then, she has been commissioning composers and arrangers to celebrate all things trombone. Her band, Bonegasm, has commissioned over 30 new jazz works and recorded three albums in the last 6 years.
This performance is to celebrate the release of the band's third album, Grit & Grace (Sunnyside 2023). Compositions by Wharton, Carolina Calvache, Natalie Cressman, Miho Hazama, Nadje Noordhuis, Vanessa Perica and more!
