Marta Sanchez -piano
Christopher Tordini -bass
Eliza Salem -drums
Marta Sanchez’s trio will be celebrating the release of their new album “Perpetual Void”. The album comes out in April on Intakt! The album was recorded with Chris Tordini on bass and Savannah Harris on drums, but for this occasion, Eliza Salem will be stepping in for the latest. After releasing four albums with a quintet, Marta shifts to a trio setting, providing more space for spontaneous interplay. The music keeps the intricacy that characterized Marta’s music written for the quintet, but now the focus is more on the playing. There is more space for open improvisation, along with form and harmony. For her previous records, Sanchez received high praise from respected sources like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Downbeat, and NPR. Notably, The New York Times recognized two of her albums as among the top 10 of the year in 2015 and 2019.
