Rachel Therrien, a trumpet player from Montreal who lived in Cuba, and Albert Marquès, a pianist from Barcelona who lived in Paris, are both Brooklyn-based artists who tour internationally with their projects. After more than 10 years of friendship and performing in different contexts, Therrien and Marquès are finally creating their first project together.
Over the course of two years, they dedicated eight recording sessions to crafting their collaborative album, seamlessly blending Rachel’s captivating trumpet artistry with Albert’s soulful piano compositions. The result is an album that beautifully fuses their unique musical backgrounds, offering a delightful exploration of Latin jazz, jazz standards, original compositions, and free jazz improvised music with global influences.
