Remy Le Boeuf is a 4x Grammy-nominated composer and saxophonist whose music is rooted in the jazz tradition and overlaps into contemporary classical and indie-rock realms. Le Boeuf is also the founder and director of the jazz orchestra, Assembly of Shadows, as well as the Chief Conductor of the Nordkraft Big Band in Denmark. He has worked with a range of collaborators including the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Linda Oh, HAIM, JACK Quartet, Dayna Stephens, Prefuse 73, and his identical twin brother Pascal, with whom he co-leads the experimental jazz quintet, Le Boeuf Brothers. Remy Le Boeuf’s Assembly of Shadows is a Grammy-nominated jazz orchestra led by composer and saxophonist, Remy Le Boeuf. Since its inception in 2018, the ensemble has premiered several commissioned works by Le Boeuf, including the work the ensemble is named after, The Assembly of Shadows Suite. The ensemble released its debut self-titled album on November 1, 2019 on SporeSpore Records. Not only did the album garner Le Boeuf two Grammy nominations in 2021 for composing and arranging, but the album was praised by The New York Times for its “overwhelming beauty” and its “ace ensemble.” The orchestra celebrated its sophomore release, Architecture of Storms, on November 5, 2021 and soon after received a Grammy nomination for “Best Large Jazz Album” the following year, as well as a second nomination for arranging. The ensemble features many of the world's top jazz performers, including Philip Dizack, Mike Rodriquez, Alan Ferber, John Ellis, Jennifer Wharton, and Martha Kato. The orchestra has performers at several of New York’s most prestigious venues including Birdland, the Jazz Gallery, and Roulette Intermedium. With its stellar performers, ground-breaking recording projects, and innovative premieres, Remy Le Boeuf’s Assembly of Shadows is on the forefront of jazz orchestra music today.
